This is the DMR Range Test – Baofeng DM-5R video.

This is the first in a series of 3 DMR range test videos. In this video, I am testing the range of the Baofeng DM-5R from two locations. One location at around 11km away and the other location at around 19km away.

    Hi there, thanks for this review of the UV-5R. Did you have to do anything special to make it communicate in digital mode with your other DMR radios of different brands? Other reviews have shown that the Baofeng DMR protocol isn’t compatible with other brands.

        Thanks for the reply. I was wondering if you have any thoughts on this page here:

        It mentions a risk of bricking the radio during the upgrade process. Do you know if this is just because it’s a fairly complicated process that most people aren’t capable of following correctly? Or is there some random bug in some radios that makes them fail during the upgrade even if the steps are correctly followed?
