QYT Wireless Bluetooth Microphone [Images]

I came across this QYT Wireless Bluetooth Microphone.

QYT Wireless Bluetooth Microphone

It does not have a DTMF keypad, however, it is rechargeable and equipped with a 1400mAh battery. It comes with a receiver/transmitter that plugs in to your QYT KT-7900D or KT-8900D radios. The range is 10m and the stated standby time is “About one week”.

Not sure if this could potentially work with other radios. It is a fact though, that at least the older QYT KT-8900 radio uses a Kenwood type microphone and some people have successfully used a Kenwood microphone with the radio. I am guessing that it should work with other radios that are Kenwood or Kenwood compatible. The microphone on these radios is connected with an RJ-45 plug.

I can certainly see a use for this. It is very helpful to have one less cable to deal with, especially if you are mobile. Although you would still have yet another thing that would need charging from time to time.

You can get it here.

How does the audio get to the bluetooth transmitter? Does the QYT radio have an audio pin in the mic port, or is there a cable from the ext speaker port that picks it up? I’m thinking of trying this mic on the TM-V71A as I cannot find a bluetooth microphone anywhere else that claims compatibility with Kenwoods…

If you check the images, there is a receiver that plugs in to the RJ-45 port in the front of the radio. I don’t have one to check, but I’ve seen videos where they are using the wired microphone with Kenwood radios and Kenwood microphones with the radio. So I am assuming it will work with the TM-V71A. If you get it, I’d love to hear your impressions! Maybe even an image or two.
